I had been following Nial Adams of Big Norfolk Skies on social media for quite some time, so was incredibly excited when I saw that he would be taking a group course at the beautiful Blickling Hall in Norfolk this Spring. I was fascinated to learn his style of layering oil paint on canvas to create stunning paintings of the sky, with the idea that I could combine his technique with floral foregrounds to give greater depth to my work.
I wasn’t disappointed – I have come back with even more enthusiasm to paint, having learnt so much.
My work has taken on a moodier, darker feel for now, with more atmosphere.
