It was so exciting to be back at The Spring Fair at the NEC, 12 years since my last visit.
With the same aim in mind as previously, to find potential publishers, I was overwhelmed by the fantastic reactions to my card samples this time. I received a huge amount of positive feedback, encouragement and advice from both art publishers and fellow artists.
After covering the whole of the Greetings and Stationary sector I was lucky enough to meet two artists whom I very much admire for their ability to create such an incredible facebook following – Jamie T for his watercolour animals and Yvonne Coomber for her meadow scenes. I even treated myself to an Yvonne Coomber fine art print – which arrived this week and is truly stunning!
Walking away from the exhibition hall of the largest UK trade show I felt so enthusiastic about the future of my art business.
I have since submitted my work to at least 6 different companies, and already received a very complimentary email about my work from Woodmansterne, describing it as ‘wonderful’.
I’m not letting go of this publishing dream – following in the footsteps of others before me who have come up against so many setbacks but kept on persevering, and eventually made it – I will do the same!
In the meantime I will keep painting, learning, practising and progressing at my chosen path in life.
